In a certain respect, Tumblr is very similar to Pinterest, if you see something you like, and then you can reblog it onto your blog to display to your other followers. As many artists and photographers use Tumblr, it is a very good place to find inspiration for potential ideas for your work. I have displayed a screen shot of my current blog, as you can see there are diverse ranges of things in which you can reblog, I mostly use this site for Music but I do often upload my own art and see other users creations from around the world. One downside to Tumblr however, is it is mainly users who are between the ages of 15-24 and have a negative look on life, or who are very opinionated and into current world affairs. But, it is interesting to see other people’s views on various things that happen around the world, and you gain an insight and more of an understanding of people who are of a similar age; so it’s positive in that way.

Just like Pinterest, you can search for posts related to a certain topic (pictured, results for Photography) and you can look through them like this. Tumblr also recommends blogs to follow based on the chosen hash tag. This is how many young artists are getting noticed, because other users are seeing their work, reblogging it and spreading it round as a result. I think that Tumblr is a very versatile social media website, and I find it really inspiring to a certain extent sometimes. I also really like how people around the world find the confidence to share their work with such as close network of people, and it is especially kind when other users compliment the artist and try help them make a living by spreading their work amongst their followers. It is common for users to create art work inspired by their favourite films, characters, books, music and hobbies. It also brings people together who have similar interests and many friendships are sparked on Tumblr.
