I decided to do a shoot inspired by Gillian Wearing's range of images that involved signs and people holding them as I thought it would be a great way to portray hidden meanings in a photograph without directly expressing the theme. I selected five songs that lyrically, I felt were relevant to the subject of hidden meaning:

- Brand New (Jesus) - 'Jesus Christ I'm Alone Again'

- Blink 182 (Asthenia) - 'Is Somebody Out There, Will Somebody Listen?'

- The Wonder Years (My Last Semester) - 'I'm Not Sad Anymore, I'm Just Tired Of This Place'

- Blink 182 (Natives) - 'We'll Have The Time Of Our Lives, Although We're Dying Inside'

Not only do I really like all of these lyrics, but I think that they are really effective when it comes to explaining how some people are feeling. So for example, some people feel like they are alone and have nobody, people feel like nobody listens to them or is there for them, some are just genuinely fed up, and others are not feeling the best, but still try to get on with life and try to have fun on the way. The shoot took place in the studio at College, and in terms of quality, I am very happy with the overall result of my images as many of them are bright, vibrant and clear when you look at them. I asked my model to move around for each image, this was to create a diverse range of Compositions for the images and to make them all look different as a result. I also really like how Beth's hair and jeans especially contrasted against the Light, White Background in which she was stood in front of. One thing I would have liked to have done differently however, is change the shirt that Beth was wearing, for something that would contrast more against the Background rather than just blend in and not stand out as prodominantly as her other items of clothing.

Out of all of the images I collected during this shoot, I have displayed my two personal best from the range. What I especially like about the landscape image is the vibrance of the left side of the image, compared to the gradual fade of light the more right to the image you look. I also really like the composition of the image, and the use of the 'Rule of Thirds' technique, which is also slightly present in the portrait image. With my portrait image that I selected, I like how there are a variety of tones and shadows present on the background in particular, and I really like the contrast between Beth and the Background. One thing I would change about this image however, is I would try to get rid of the line just beside Beth's right leg, as this was where the background slabs joined together, but this can easilly be done using Photoshop.
