I have created a mind map below to record some of my ideas and what comes to my head when I see the words 'Beneath the Surface'. For me personally, I believe that this subject has a lot to do with people's feelings and mood, as this can easilly be altered to suit a situation or to cover up how someone is really feeling. So, for this topic, I am mainly going to focusing on creating work that has concepts regarding Mental Health and the Human Mind, not only is the subject very personal to me, but I feel that I should focus on something that people do not feel comfortable talking about. I would be satisfied if my work gave some impact to the people looking at it, and I would also like to come up with something that makes the audience think about the following: What is going on in this piece? How is that person feeling? And what is the message behind the composition? Ultimately for me, I feel that the more stronger pieces of Art have a not so obvious meaning and can be interpreted in various ways by the viewers.
