Music Merchandise

A way in which Bands and Artists make extra money is through the sales of Merchandise. What is on offer varies from band to band, but the generic products include:

- T Shirts

- Hats

- Jackets

- Stickers

- Badges

- CDs

In more recent years, products such as Vinyl/Records, Skateboard Decks, Varsity Jackets, Bags and Flags have became increasingly popular, and this kind of Memrobillia is very popular amongst Music Fans around The World. Merchandise can be purchased from many places, including Offical Merch Websites (Grindstore, Impericon etc.), Actual Official Band Websites, Merch Tables at Shows, and through some shops (Sports Direct, HMV mainly). Not only does Merch make the Bands money, but it is also Promotion if someone has say a Blink 182 shirt on whilst walking down the street. In an effort to make more money, Band Members have also created their own Clothing Lines with hope that people will be interested in the Brand based on the member's previous Musical Achievements. For example, Tom Delonge (Former Blink 182 Member) has a company called 'Macbeth Footwear', also, fellow bands mates Mark Hoppus owns 'Hi My Name Is Mark', and Travis Barker owns 'Famous Stars and Straps'. Due to the nature of the band, the Clothing Lines are very competitive, and there is a clear line within the Fanbase of people who support the three lines. As 'Hi My Name Is Mark' is relatively new, Macbeth and Famous Stars and Straps are the most fierce two, as they have both been around for over ten years, and Tom and Travis promote it a lot in order to increase sales. I personally prefer Macbeth, but the fact that I like Tom more reflects on this, which is a similar brainwave of many other Blink fans out there. It enables the bands to make more money on the side rather than having to rely on Shows and Appearences.
